Jerry Seinfeld’s name will forever be synonymous with one of the most popular TV shows in history, “Seinfeld”, but now the comedian is embarking on a new exploit in an effort to bring together some seriously funny people, unique cars and a steaming mug of coffee.
The new web series entitled “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” debuted on July 19 and has steadily been gaining a following ever since. With the likes of big names like Alec Baldwin, Ricky Gervais, Larry David and even an upcoming episode with Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks, Seinfeld has succeeded in rounding up some of the biggest names in comedy for the show and viewers are allowed a highly entertaining glimpse into the other side of the lives of these comedians.
As for the cars Seinfeld drives, they range in make and model but don’t expect to see any high-end supercars featured as he states in one episode that he loves cars that are more like toys. Three of the cars used are owned by Seinfeld himself with the rest being borrowed for the day of the actual episode.
All in all, this series is an incredibly funny look at comedians doing something very common and ordinary. As Larry David surmises Jerry Seinfeld may have finally created the ‘show about nothing’. But don’t let the show’s simple premise fool you: there’s a lot to like and even more to love about it.
