John Clements was recently honoured by Acura Canada for 25 years of service with Acura. He has worked with Crown Acura for 20 years and he has been a technician for over 40 years after starting with Honda in 1973.
He doesn’t have a favourite Acura because he loves them all. He’s worked on several Acura NSXs which were very interesting but the most interesting car he’s ever worked on was a 1967 Dodge 427 Hemi. It was the ultimate muscle car with 427 horsepower and 427 pounds of torque.
When he was an apprentice working for Transcona Dodge he took that 1967 Dodge 427 Hemi far down the street and floored it back to the shop. The shop foreman later told him that he couldn’t see him but he could definitely hear him and to never do that again.
