
With the Acura ILX, Honda’s luxury brand offers a low priced entry-level luxury car, and the company has just released two new commercials designed to kick start sales.
Each commercial focuses on the car’s versatility and at the same time caters to a young person’s sensibilities. Both feature a person’s split personality and show how the ILX can work for a business man or for some late night club hopping. Like the car itself, these commercials are aimed at generation Y and at capturing a more youthful outlook on life.
The marketing campaign for the ILX is Acura’s largest ever investment in interactive media with ads scheduled to appear on Pandora radio as well as the XBOX live network. Rival companies will no doubt be watching the sales numbers to see if there is a market for cars like the ILX and with the sufficient exposure it’s been getting, they could soon be scrambling to get into the entry-level luxury market themselves.
