Tires can be inflated with either air or Nitrogen.  When one fills a tire with Nitrogen it’s simply just dry air with the Oxygen removed and air already contains nearly 79% Nitrogen.

The physical properties of Nitrogen can reduce pressure loss caused by the natural permeability of the materials of a tire.  However, there are many other possible sources of leaks such as the tire/rim interface or the valve/rim interface.
